PRINT REQUIREMENTS

Preparing your artwork correctly is essential for professional label printing. At Product Label Queen, we follow specific print-ready requirements to ensure labels print cleanly, accurately, and as intended. This page outlines the file setup standards used for label design and printing for health and beauty brands.

Label Size Requirements

Correct label sizing is one of the most important steps in the printing process. Your artwork must be set to the exact size you want printed. Label sizes are always listed as width × height. If your label measures 2 × 2 inches, your artwork must also be 2 × 2 inches.

Incorrect sizing can result in:

  • Poor fit on packaging
  • Cropping or alignment issues
  • Unprofessional final results

If you are unsure of your label size, guidance is available before printing.

Color Mode for Printing

All print-ready label artwork must be prepared in CMYK color mode, not RGB.

Colors appear differently on screen than they do in print. CMYK color mode helps ensure better color accuracy and consistency during the printing process.

Files submitted in RGB may print with unexpected color shifts.

Preferred File Types

The preferred file format for label printing is a high-resolution PDF.

PDF files preserve:

  • Design quality
  • Layout integrity
  • Sharp text and graphics

PNG and JPG files are not recommended for final printing, as they may compress or lose quality. Crop marks are not required but optional.

Print-Ready File Review

All files are reviewed before printing to ensure they meet print requirements. If an issue is found, you will be contacted with next steps before production begins. This helps prevent printing errors and unnecessary delays. Submitting print-ready files helps keep projects on schedule.
